Details: The 'Tear Drop' design moves the 'sweet spot' and 'balance' of the paddle closer to the top of the paddle, producing more 'Kinetic Energy' so the paddle rolls over the ball faster producing even more SPIN and Power. The design also decreases the paddle mass near the handle producing a lighter paddle which enhances that effect. What does all this mean? It means the Encore which was the first and only paddle specially designed to maximize deflection (power) and surface roughness (spin), based on USAPA guidelines, produces even more of both.
