Bridge = a device to make connection of Sonos system to your home router (is not a required item - all Sonos units have Bridge built in - if you have another Sonos device in a location that is convenient to plug into your router use your other Sonos device instead of bridge).

Connect = Sonos device that turns existing devices into Sonos devices. Connect has input and output(s) where you can output (analog, rca digital, and fiber digital) Sonos music to an existing sound source (such as existing amplifier/receiver) and also has input in order to convert sound from that device and bring into Sonos system (ie. whatever that receiver is playing can then play to all Sonos speakers).
